Roscoe's a world famous deli, restaurant, and bar. Is located in Downtown Fullerton just 5 minutes from the 91 freeway. Green Bliss Cafe

Address: 305 N Harbor Blvd, Ste. 103
         Fullerton, CA 92832
Phone: (714) 773-0018
                                                                    Web: http://www.green-bliss.com/

Hours:
Monday through Saturday- 7am to 7pm
Sunday- 8am to 5pm

Location:
Green Bliss Cafe is located right off the 57 freeway and only a few minutes from the 91 freeway and California State University, Fullerton.

Atmosphere:
This eco-friendly cafe is very mellow and cozy. It is great for students who are looking for a quiet and soothing environment, although seating might be a little limited. It is very visually pleasing with great décor including a fountain in the outside courtyard. Their brick wall gives a good touch as well.

Menu:
Although the menu at Green Bliss is very small, the cafe offers vegan and vegetarian items that are not commonly found. Yes, vegetarian and vegan plates might not be for everyone, but even the most adamant meat-lover would enjoy their Curried Chickpea Salad Panini. Other menu items include other paninis, several salads, and flatbreads. As you can see by the hours of operations, the cafe focuses mainly on lunch and breakfast diners. For breakfast, which is served until 11am, customers can choose between a casserole, eggs and a croissant, and a few additional menu options. The cafe is also very famous for its coffee and tea selections. More importantly, however, is the company’s goal of sustainability. The majority of ingredients used at Green Bliss are grown locally in California (including their coffee!) and all food scraps are compost with the exception of dairy items. This makes for not only a tasty fulfilling visit, but also one that is helping the environment!

Prices:
All menu items at Green Bliss are under $10.00- no exceptions!

I definitely recommend a visit to Green Bliss, not only for vegans and vegetarians, but for anyone who is looking for a relaxing restaurant that serves delicious food!

Here are what some other Green Bliss customers had to say on Yelp!:

Was out in Fullerton visiting a friend and ended up eating here.

I had the kale salad and it was excellent, easily the best (and healthiest) thing I ate all weekend.

Also had coffee several times - once a regular, one pour-over, and one expresso. All were great.

The staff is friendly and the ambiance is very down-to-earth.

Not only does this adorable little cafe have great ideals, it's absolutely delicious. The coffee is great, the staff is friendly and the curry chickpea sandwich is amazing. Their smoothies and baked goods are a nice little midday treat too :)

Rutabegorz

Address: 211 North Pomona Ave.
         Fullerton, CA 92832
Phone: (714) 738-9339
                                                                    Web: http://www.rutabegorz.com/

 Hours:
Monday through Thursday- 10:30am to 9pm
Friday and Saturday- 10:30am to 10pm
Sunday- Closed

Location:
Rutabegorz is located in Downtown Fullerton- only a few blocks from the 91 freeway and less than ten minutes away from California State University, Fullerton. The restaurant also has two other locations in Orange and Tustin.

Atmosphere:
Rutabegorz offers a very unique atmosphere to its customers. The restaurant, which calls itself a “hippie joint,” is located in a home-style building with a patio, providing diners with a cozy and casual environment. Finding seating will be no problem. The inside of the restaurant has very little lighting in comparison to the patio which is decorated with many Christmas lights, although both are “decked out” in wacky and eclectic decorations. Customers are served by very friendly waiters who are knowledgeable on their menu; however, checks are paid for at the front counter.

Menu:
This restaurant’s menu is very difficult to categorize- maybe a mix of Traditional American, Mexican, and Italian dishes. However, Rutabegorz prides itself in being a health food restaurant, offering many vegetarian dishes, along with chicken, turkey, tuna and other lean meats, using only fresh ingredients. They have pastas, pizzas, sandwiches, wraps, soups, chili, burritos and much more. We would provide a copy of the menu, but it’s just too large to include! From my experience, the nachos and the garlic chicken pasta are definitely some good options. I should include that dishes are very large and most can be shared between two people. The restaurant also offers many dish specials on their menu, which vary with the season, and also has a 43 cent monthly dip special (they were serving a Thai dip when I visited). Rutabegorz also does serve many beers and wines, but they do not have a bar.

Prices:
Most menu items are less than $10.00. I don’t think I saw anything on the menu that cost more than $12.00. Appetizers which are listed on their menu as “Munchies,” are very cheap in comparison to most restaurants ranging from 43 cents (the dip special I mentioned, which is actually served with Veggie Stix!) to about $9.00 for the Nachos (which is better used a main dish).

Basically, Rutabegorz has something for everyone for a very affordable price in a comfortable atmosphere. You will not be disappointed with your visit!

Here what some visitors from Yelp! had to say about Rutabegorz:

Grew up eating here, and love it.

I've had just about everything on the menu through the years, but the veggie cheese soup remains a favorite. (And damn do I miss it, now that I no longer eat cheese!)

Their breads are great. The cookies are phenomenal. Their sandwiches, soups, crepes, fondue, salads... I can go on and on.

There's something here for everyone.

Their "seasonal" specials are always delicious, and when they have their strawberry specials I eat there at least twice a week. So good!

Go. Nosh. Swoon. Repeat.

I've been coming here for years and it never seizes to amaze me how delishes Rutas is. The food and beverage selection is awesome, but hands down my favorite dish is............

Chicken Enchelada Verde with a tall Strawberry Blonde Ale by Belmont Brewery. If you are a meat and cheese kinda guy (or girl) this is the must have dish. Hands down!

My wife loves trying the seasonal dips they make for super cheap and their homeade brownies. She dabbles with different dishes and has never had a complaint about any of the food.

The only bummer is that this Rutas is not open on Sundays, BUT the food is definately worth the downtime.

Mrs. Bea's Louisian Chicken and Waffles

1299 S.  Harbor Blvd
La Habra, CA 90631
(714) 441- 2327

Located on Imperial and Harbor, Mrs. Bea's Louisiana Chicken and Waffles is definitely a must visit. With its southern style interior setting, the restaurant creates a real vibrant mood for customers. Being relatively new in town, and supposedly having a better chicken and waffle recipe than that of the infamous Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles, my interest in visiting this place was really sparked.

Even though the menu is not as extensive as most places, each item is hand prepared and made to order. The quality of the food prepared compensates for the time you wait for your food to be made and served to you. I came with a large group during my visit here so it was a lot of food shared and almost the whole menu was able to be tasted. The fried chicken was definitely top notch. Their special seasoning really set them apart from other fried chicken competitors. The cinnamon waffles, even though I was expecting something, were still good, but I believe could be better. The best part of everything were the side orders. From the savory greens to the mac and cheese, it made you want to order more and just have that as the main course.

Here is a review Mrs. Bea's has gotten from Yelp!

Honestly wanted to rate this 3 stars but in all fairness their menu isn't finalized yet, ordered the chicken strips/waffles spinach dip and chips, and gumbo.
Gumbo was better than average, the sausage they used tonight is too salty (they said they'd bring it up) hopefully they find a better solution, the chicken wasn't the best wasn't the worst, the spinach dip and  chips were better than average, but the Mac and cheese is by far the best Ive ever had, which since I usually prefer to make it from scratch so I can up the cheesyness, says a lot. Next time maybe just gumbo and Mac and cheese or just Mac and cheese.

If they put better seating in, meaning padded booths, dimmed the lighting a bit and added better ventilation in the dining area, it'd be 4 stars easily.

Definitely worth a try, prices are a bit steep, for basic creole/cajun  food, but then again it's not just cayenne pepper flavored.

Byblos Mediterranean Grill

Don't let this plain building deceive you. Located on Tustin Avenue right off the 91 freeway, Byblos offers authentic Mediterranean food for great prices. If you are ready to try something new then you don't have to worry about hurting your wallet in the process. If you have already experienced Mediterranean and want another good place to go, give Byblos a shot.

Their menu may not seem impressive in size, but every item brings something flavorful to the table.
If you're having trouble trying to decide where to start, I suggest a pita wrap. Their pita is great and makes a great lunch with any of the meat choices. While you eat, make sure to order a side of hummus. It is homemade and comes with more delicious pita bread. Its the Mediterranean chips and salsa!

Taps Fishhouse & Brewery

Taps is located on Imperial Highway and Brea Blvd. It is a short drive from CSUF and right off the 57 freeway. Like their name implies, Taps is a great place to eat and have a drink. The restaurant has seating for 500 guests and a 21 person oyster bar. Inside you will find 80 inch TVs, elegant dining, fireplaces and live music.

Their seafood selection, the pride of the restaurant, is always great. Menus change during lunch and dinner hours so be sure to check out their site to find your favorite dish before you go. The lunch menu tends to be more price friendly and offers selections better for shorter visits. The dinner menu may have higher prices, but they are not unjustified. If seafood isn't your favorite, Taps also has great steaks, burger, chicken, and pizza and pasta during lunch. In addition, Taps also has a special menu for Sunday brunch.

Whether you're having a drink with a friend or enjoying one with a meal, Taps has a great selection of microbrews with a full bar and cocktail menu.

Here's what some others have to say about Taps on Yelp!:

"Sophisticated adult fun. Foodie quality dishes mixed with stellar micro brews. This is one of the few none chain eateries in the area. Happy hour is great with a variety of sandwiches and appetizers that are a step above chain restaurants. I am not a fan of paid parking so I deducted a point. The valet is convenient but ample free parking is available across the street in the public parking garage.

You can impress a date here."
