                                                                    Web: http://www.rutabegorz.com/

 Hours:
Monday through Thursday- 10:30am to 9pm
Friday and Saturday- 10:30am to 10pm
Sunday- Closed

Location:
Rutabegorz is located in Downtown Fullerton- only a few blocks from the 91 freeway and less than ten minutes away from California State University, Fullerton. The restaurant also has two other locations in Orange and Tustin.

Atmosphere:
Rutabegorz offers a very unique atmosphere to its customers. The restaurant, which calls itself a “hippie joint,” is located in a home-style building with a patio, providing diners with a cozy and casual environment. Finding seating will be no problem. The inside of the restaurant has very little lighting in comparison to the patio which is decorated with many Christmas lights, although both are “decked out” in wacky and eclectic decorations. Customers are served by very friendly waiters who are knowledgeable on their menu; however, checks are paid for at the front counter.

Menu:
This restaurant’s menu is very difficult to categorize- maybe a mix of Traditional American, Mexican, and Italian dishes. However, Rutabegorz prides itself in being a health food restaurant, offering many vegetarian dishes, along with chicken, turkey, tuna and other lean meats, using only fresh ingredients. They have pastas, pizzas, sandwiches, wraps, soups, chili, burritos and much more. We would provide a copy of the menu, but it’s just too large to include! From my experience, the nachos and the garlic chicken pasta are definitely some good options. I should include that dishes are very large and most can be shared between two people. The restaurant also offers many dish specials on their menu, which vary with the season, and also has a 43 cent monthly dip special (they were serving a Thai dip when I visited). Rutabegorz also does serve many beers and wines, but they do not have a bar.

Prices:
Most menu items are less than $10.00. I don’t think I saw anything on the menu that cost more than $12.00. Appetizers which are listed on their menu as “Munchies,” are very cheap in comparison to most restaurants ranging from 43 cents (the dip special I mentioned, which is actually served with Veggie Stix!) to about $9.00 for the Nachos (which is better used a main dish).

Basically, Rutabegorz has something for everyone for a very affordable price in a comfortable atmosphere. You will not be disappointed with your visit!

Grew up eating here, and love it.

I've had just about everything on the menu through the years, but the veggie cheese soup remains a favorite. (And damn do I miss it, now that I no longer eat cheese!)

Their breads are great. The cookies are phenomenal. Their sandwiches, soups, crepes, fondue, salads... I can go on and on.

There's something here for everyone.

Their "seasonal" specials are always delicious, and when they have their strawberry specials I eat there at least twice a week. So good!

Go. Nosh. Swoon. Repeat.

I've been coming here for years and it never seizes to amaze me how delishes Rutas is. The food and beverage selection is awesome, but hands down my favorite dish is............

Chicken Enchelada Verde with a tall Strawberry Blonde Ale by Belmont Brewery. If you are a meat and cheese kinda guy (or girl) this is the must have dish. Hands down!

My wife loves trying the seasonal dips they make for super cheap and their homeade brownies. She dabbles with different dishes and has never had a complaint about any of the food.

The only bummer is that this Rutas is not open on Sundays, BUT the food is definately worth the downtime.
